In my last few years on Wall Street, as well as in the time since I’ve left, I often found that most of the folks I knew in the industry reacted as if an alien had just landed in their back yard if you even suggested the U.S. was on an unsustainable fiscal path.
Which made it interesting to see both Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank come out with reports in the last week stating that the U.S. is headed towards some fiscal problems.
Keep in mind that in my experience it’s often best to consider anything coming from the large banking houses with a grain of salt. Athough it is interesting to see this type of commentary becoming more mainstream.
Worth keeping an eye on, and will be interesting to see what develops.
